TxtDropper (the text, photo & video, audio and document transfer tools) is built on a strict "No Server Storage" architecture. We do not require registration, we do not have a database for your transfers, and we do not store any of the text, files, code, or links you send. All data transfers occur strictly device-to-device (Peer-to-Peer) using WebRTC technology.
When you click "Generate sharing code", a small signaling server that we operate helps the two devices find each other. It only sees the temporary sharing code and the technical details needed to connect, never the content of your transfer. Once connected, your text or files travel directly between the two browsers through an encrypted WebRTC connection. On some networks (for example certain mobile connections) a direct link is impossible, so the encrypted traffic is relayed by Cloudflare's TURN service; the relay only carries encrypted data that it cannot read. When you close the browser tab, the data is completely destroyed.
To keep TxtDropper 100% free with no signup required, we display banner advertisements served by third-party advertising partners (currently Adsterra). These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Nothing from an advertising partner is loaded until you accept advertising cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. If you refuse, no ad is loaded. You can change your choice at any time with the "Ad preferences" link in the footer. The transfer tools work the same whatever you choose, and your files and text are never shared with advertisers.
We take your security seriously despite being a free tool. TxtDropper implements client-side rate limiting to prevent automated brute-force attempts on active room codes. Additionally, a randomized collision-resistant algorithm ensures your 6-character room code remains unique to your session.
If you use our Contact page, the email address and message you submit are stored securely so our team can read and reply to them. This is the only information TxtDropper stores on a server. This data is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and is not shared with third parties or used for marketing.
